How the quality index is calculated
What the number means
From 0 to 100. We compare a channel with similar ones: the same main topic and the same size. A district newspaper does not compete with a national channel.
What it is made of
Why some channels show “—”
We calculate the index for channels with at least 500 subscribers, with posts in the last 7 and 30 days and with views. The rest are at the end of the list.
Full methodologyWhat the number means
How often other MAX channels repost and mention the channel over the last 30 days, and how large those channels are. A repost by a national channel weighs more than a link from a channel with 50 readers.
There is no upper limit: the most cited MAX channels reach the hundreds.
What counts and how
Repeats from the same channel add less and less. A channel that mentions everyone splits its weight among them.
What is not counted
Ad posts, mentions between channels of the same owner and group chat messages. A channel with no mentions in 30 days gets 0 and shows “—” in the table.

Frequently asked: Universities and colleges
How many universities and colleges are on MAX?
The collection now has 2 897 channels of universities, colleges and technical schools; together they have 1.2 M subscribers, and 2 137 channels (74 %) posted in the last 7 days. datool.ru finds new government channels on its own, so the number keeps growing.
How does datool.ru pick channels of universities, colleges and technical schools?
A channel gets here if it is a government channel (MAX itself assigns a public name like id<INN>_gos) and its title contains «колледж», «техникум», «университет», «институт», «академия» or «вуз». Each channel gets into only one institution collection: a “Medical University” goes to universities, not hospitals.
How do I find my university's or college's channel?
Type the number or name of the institution, the city or the district into “Find a channel”: the search only covers channels of the collection. You can pick a region in the “Region” filter: it is known for 2 897 channels in the collection, and tagging continues.
Why is a university's or college's channel missing from the collection?
Most likely the channel title has no marker word (the channel is called, say, “District news” or after its head), the channel is not a government one (its name has no _gos) or it is private. All government channels are in the “Government channels” collection, and an open channel can be added by link.
How do I narrow down the channels in a collection?
Above the list are the “Subscribers”, “Activity”, “Quality index”, “Marks” and “Region” filters and the “Find a channel” field: search and filters work only inside the collection. The tabs change the order: by subscribers, quality index, citations, fresh posts and newest; the “Table” view is handy for comparing. 264 channels in the collection have a quality index of 70 or more.
How often is the collection updated?
The collection and its filter counts are recalculated every hour. datool.ru data collection updates subscribers and posts: large channels every few minutes, small ones once a day.
What other MAX channel collections are there?
Government channels, Channels with the A+ label, Verified by owners, Million-subscriber channels, New channels, First MAX channels, 100K channels, Business channels, Post every day, Run ads, No ads, Schools, Kindergartens, Hospitals and clinics, Cultural institutions, Administrations.
