Алексей Булдаков родился 26 марта 1951 года в Макаровке Алтайского края. Отец - Иван Семёнович Булдаков (1922—1990), работал шофёром. Мать - Евдокия Максимовна Булдакова (в девичестве Бойко) (1921—2003).
Имеет двух сестер и двух братьев. Его братья - водители, одна сестра работала бухгалтером, другая - завскладом.
Спустя некоторое время после его рождения семья переехала в Павлодар.
В школьные годы занимался боксом и классической борьбой.
«Я до восьмого класса мечтал быть военным летчиком. В кружок ходил, планеры делал. Но я очень любил кино. Если два кинотеатра были рядом, то я брал билет на один сеанс, смотрел, перебегал дорогу и шел в другой кинотеатр. Сутками мог смотреть. И как посмотрел «Большую жизнь» с Петром Алейниковым, так и все. Решил актером стать», - рассказывал он.

Близкие и представители кинокомпании её сына Фёдора Бондарчука не стали раскрывать точный медицинский диагноз, сообщив лишь, что причиной смерти стала продолжительная затяжная болезнь, отягощенная преклонным возрастом.
Смерть Ирины Константиновны поразила общественность своим символизмом. Она ушла из жизни ровно в тот же день, что и её любимый муж Сергей Бондарчук — 20 октября, но с разницей ровно в 26 лет (режиссер умер 20 октября 1994 года). В окружении семьи это назвали настоящим чудом верности, будто супруги воссоединились.
Отпевание актрисы прошло 22 октября 2020 года в московском храме Воскресения Словущего на Успенском Вражке. Ирина Скобцева была похоронена на Новодевичьем кладбище в Москве — на семейном участке, прямо рядом со своим супругом Сергеем Бондарчуком и дочерью Алёной.
История любви Ирины Скобцевой и Сергея Бондарчука считается одной из самых ярких в советском кино.
После смерти мужа в 1994 году Ирина Константиновна находила утешение в детях и работе. Однако судьба приготовила ей еще один тяжелый удар: в 2009 году от онкологического заболевания умерла её дочь, актриса Алёна Бондарчук, не дожив до 50 лет. Пережить потерю ребенка актрисе было невероятно трудно.
На фоне стресса и возраста здоровье актрисы стало постепенно сдавать. В 2016 году Ирина Скобцева упала у себя дома и получила сложный перелом, потребовавший операции. Полностью восстановить подвижность после этого ей так и не удалось, и она практически перестала появляться на публике.
Актриса жила в загородном доме в Барвихе под опекой своего внука, актера Константина Крюкова, и его супруги. До последних дней она оставалась хранительницей семейного архива Сергея Бондарчука.
Ирина Скобцева тихо скончалась утром 20 октября 2020 года в Москве на 94-м году жизни.
Как поясняла Ирина Константиновна, сниматься в сериалах согласилась, чтобы отвлечься от постигшего ее горя - смерти мужа Сергея Бондарчука: «Мою жизнь вообще можно разделить на два периода - до смерти Сергея Бондарчука и после. Для меня это было страшное горе. Оно, как известно, не красит человека. И мои близкие и друзья советовали начать много сниматься. Я послушалась. Стала играть в комедиях, сериалах. На все это я соглашалась, чтобы чем-то забить голову. Так что, да, в последние несколько лет я действительно играю более разноплановые роли».
Ирина Скобцева сыграла в кино около 90 ролей, отличающихся одна от другой и по характерам героинь, и по эпохам. Несмотря на возраст, актриса прекрасно выглядела.
«Никогда не задумывалась о походе к пластическому хирургу. У меня не было желания что-либо в себе изменить. Наверное, нужно поблагодарить природу, наградившую меня такой внешностью. Надо сказать, что моя матушка и бабушка, которую я боготворила, до конца своих дней оставались стройными и подтянутыми. В нашей семье не было актеров, но мои родители были очень творческими людьми», - рассказывала она.
Муж - Сергей Бондарчук, известный советский режиссер и актер.
С ним она познакомилась будучи ещё студенткой Школы-студии МХАТ.
В 1959 году она вышла за него замуж. В браке родились дочь Елена и сын Федор.
«Я знала, что он меня любит. В нашей жизни было разное. Не всем нравилось, что мы живем дружно долгие годы, нас пытались рассорить. Но женщина должна иметь достаточно мудрости, чтобы отличать, где настоящее, а где нет», - говорила Ирина Скобцева.
Дочь: Елена Бондарчук (1962-2009), актриса театра и кино.
Сын: Фёдор Бондарчук, кинорежиссёр и актёр. Внук: Константин Крюков, актёр.
