How the quality index is calculated
Would you mind explaining what deduction is? ⠀ 2. Would you mind if I + Past Simple.
Would you mind if I talked to some witnesses while you’re looking around on the crime scene? Чтобы вежливо согласиться, скажите: not at all (вовсе нет) или, of course not (конечно, нет).
🔙 Future in the past
В английском для таких предложений есть специальная конструкция — future in the past.
He said he would move to London → Он говорил, что переедет в Лондон (говорил он в прошлом, но про будущее).
I was going to study law, but I changed my mind → Я собирался учиться на юриста, но передумал.
Would или Was/were going to.
I thought the movie would be boring, but it wasn't. →
They were going to buy a house, but they couldn't afford it.
This is my favorite T-shirt.
Далеко: That – тот, та Пример: That car is black.
Близко: These – эти Пример: These books are mine.
Those two men seem to be late.
He hasn't seen her since 2020.
Since требует точного момента: since Monday, since 2020, since I left school.
I’ll be riding shotgun
🔸 Should — просто рекомендация.
It's a great film. You should go and see it.
It's late. You'd better go.
The film starts at 8.30. You'd better go now or you'll miss the beginning. →
I always drink coffee → Я всегда пью кофе. She often goes to the gym → Она часто ходит в спортзал.
He is always late → Он всегда опаздывает.
I have never been to London → Я никогда не был в Лондоне. You should always check → Тебе всегда стоит проверять.
Do you always wake up early?
