How the quality index is calculated
What the number means
From 0 to 100. We compare a channel with similar ones: the same main topic and the same size. A district newspaper does not compete with a national channel.
What it is made of
Why some channels show “—”
We calculate the index for channels with at least 500 subscribers, with posts in the last 7 and 30 days and with views. The rest are at the end of the list.
Full methodologyWhat the number means
How often other MAX channels repost and mention the channel over the last 30 days, and how large those channels are. A repost by a national channel weighs more than a link from a channel with 50 readers.
There is no upper limit: the most cited MAX channels reach the hundreds.
What counts and how
Repeats from the same channel add less and less. A channel that mentions everyone splits its weight among them.
What is not counted
Ad posts, mentions between channels of the same owner and group chat messages. A channel with no mentions in 30 days gets 0 and shows “—” in the table.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Frequently asked: Channels with the A+ label
What does the A+ mark on a MAX channel mean?
MAX itself sets the A+ mark: the channel is listed in the Roskomnadzor register as a personal page with an audience of more than 10,000 people. datool.ru takes the mark from the channel card in MAX and shows it as a green A+ shield, whether or not the owner has verified the channel on datool.ru.
How many MAX channels have the A+ mark?
The A+ mark is now on 4 607 channels, 0.7 % of open MAX channels, yet they hold 46 % of all subscriptions (186.7 M). 4 485 channels posted in the last 7 days.
Why does a large channel have no A+ mark?
The mark depends not on the subscriber count but on an entry in the Roskomnadzor register, which the owner files. Until there is an entry, MAX shows no badge and the channel is not in the collection. Once the mark appears in MAX, the channel gets here after the next card check and collection update.
Why does the A+ mark matter to advertisers?
Since 1 September 2025, ads may not be placed on pages with an audience of more than 10,000 that are not in the Roskomnadzor register. The A+ mark shows that the channel is in the register. Before placing an ad, check the register entry and look at the channel analytics: reach, engagement and the quality index.
How do I narrow down the channels in a collection?
Above the list are the “Subscribers”, “Activity”, “Quality index”, “Marks” and “Region” filters and the “Find a channel” field: search and filters work only inside the collection. The tabs change the order: by subscribers, quality index, citations, fresh posts and newest; the “Table” view is handy for comparing. 2 694 channels in the collection have a quality index of 70 or more.
How often is the collection updated?
The collection and its filter counts are recalculated every hour. datool.ru data collection updates subscribers and posts: large channels every few minutes, small ones once a day.
What other MAX channel collections are there?
Government channels, Verified by owners, Million-subscriber channels, New channels, First MAX channels, 100K channels, Business channels, Post every day, Run ads, No ads, Schools, Kindergartens, Universities and colleges, Hospitals and clinics, Cultural institutions, Administrations.
