Ирак возвращается в контейнерные перевозки спустя полвека
21 октября принадлежащий Ираку контейнеровоз Basrah вышел из порта Джебель-Али (ОАЭ), открыв первую государственную контейнерную линию страны за более чем 50 лет. Судно следует в Кувейт, а затем будет работать на маршруте с заходом в иракский порт Умм-Каср.
Проект реализуется в рамках программы восстановления национального торгового флота и развития транспортной инфраструктуры страны. В Багдаде рассчитывают укрепить торговые связи с соседними государствами и снизить зависимость от перегруженных сухопутных маршрутов, которые испытывают повышенную нагрузку с начала регионального конфликта.
Контейнеровоз Basrah был построен в 2014 году, имеет дедвейт около 17 800 тонн и вместимость порядка 900 TEU. В последние годы судно уже использовалось для доставки грузов в Ирак, включая продовольственные поставки.
В Министерстве транспорта Ирака назвали запуск сервиса историческим событием и первым шагом к возрождению национального судоходства. Власти также связывают проект с более масштабными планами по развитию морской логистики, портовой инфраструктуры и международного транспортного коридора через Персидский залив.
Пожар на Espirito Santo Express: спасены 28 моряков, погиб старпом судна‑спасателя
Трагедией завершилась операция по спасению экипажа контейнеровоза Espirito Santo Express, на борту которого 15 октября произошёл пожар предположительно после взрыва в южной части Атлантики. Судно, вместимостью 11 800 TEU, следовало из Сингапура в бразильский порт Сантус и находилось примерно в 1 700 км к востоку от Рио‑де‑Жанейро, когда подало сигнал бедствия.
На помощь пришёл балкер Aeolian Arrow, который сумел принять на борт всех 28 членов экипажа контейнеровоза. Моряки покидали судно в крайне тяжёлых условиях: 19 человек находились в спасательной шлюпке, ещё девять - на плоту при сильном волнении моря.
Во время завершения эвакуации произошла новая трагедия. Старший помощник капитана Aeolian Arrow, работавший в спасательной шлюпке, оказался за бортом после резкого удара волны. Власти Нового Южного Уэльса изымают историческое судно Cape Don для утилизации
Австралийские власти приняли решение изъять и подготовить к утилизации историческое судно Cape Don, заявив, что его техническое состояние представляет угрозу для безопасности и окружающей среды. По данным NSW Maritime, корпус судна имеет серьёзную коррозию в районе ватерлинии, а отсутствие капитального ремонта более 20 лет создаёт риск затопления и дорогостоящей аварийно‑спасательной операции.
Построенный в 1962 году в Ньюкасле теплоход Cape Don служил в составе Службы маяков Австралии, обеспечивая строительство и снабжение маяков по всему побережью страны. После вывода из эксплуатации в 1990 году судно работало в южной части Тихого океана, а последние два десятилетия находится в гавани Сиднея как плавучий исторический объект.
Власти утверждают, что в течение нескольких лет безуспешно добивались от владельца проведения ремонта и сухого докования. По их оценке, в случае затопления расходы на подъём и ликвидацию последствий могут достигнуть 15 млн австралийских долларов.
В свою очередь, фонд Sea Heritage Foundation категорически не согласен с решением. Представители организации заявляют, что корпус регулярно обследовался, на судне работают системы откачки и мониторинга, а независимая оценка, выполненная в августе, подтвердила возможность перевода судна в док для ремонта. Фонд требует проведения независимой экспертизы перед принятием необратимых решений и называет заявления властей «не соответствующими действительности».
Судьба одного из последних сохранившихся австралийских судов службы маяков теперь может решиться в противостоянии между правительством штата и защитниками морского наследия.
С MSC Baltic III снято около 2/3 веса судна: работы продолжаются
Канадская береговая охрана сообщает о существенном прогрессе в операции по разделке и утилизации аварийного контейнеровоза MSC Baltic III. По последним данным, компания Resolve Marine извлекла порядка 68 процентов тоннажа судна - 7 445 тонн против немногим более 6 000 тонн на начало октября, когда показатель составлял около 55 процентов.
Судно длиной 207 метров потеряло ход и было выброшено на берег Ньюфаундленда в феврале 2025 года. Первый этап операции предусматривал удаление топлива, потенциальных загрязнителей и груза. Второй этап - непосредственно утилизация - начался в мае 2026 года по контракту с Resolve Marine.
После демонтажа надстройки, большей части палубного оборудования и грузовых люков летом началась резка верхней части корпуса. К концу июля эти работы завершились, и началась подтяжка оставшейся части к береговой линии для резки и подъема. 9 сентября был удален значительный фрагмент носовой секции.
По последним данным, носовая и центральная секции корпуса перемещены вперед в общей сложности на 170 метров, кормовая - на 78 метров. Работы продлятся до наступления зимних условий. Полного завершения в текущем году не гарантируют: ранее указывалось, что часть операций может перейти на 2027 год. Контракт также предусматривает восстановление грунта в месте посадки судна на мель.
Береговая охрана отметила повышенный уровень выхода нефтепродуктов на этом этапе. Танки были осушены, однако остаточные нефтепродукты в системах, как и предупреждали специалисты, высвобождаются. В заливе Сидар-Коув наблюдается радужная пленка, зафиксированы загрязнение растительности и мусора на берегу, свежие мазутные пятна. В районе обнаружены три погибшие птицы, причина гибели не установлена.
