За боевые заслуги Вячеслав Васильевич награжден медалью «За отвагу», орденом Отечественной войны II степени и медалью «За победу над Японией». После войны он много лет трудился на благо Сахалина и областной столицы.
Вячеслав Васильевич принадлежит к поколению людей, чьими мужеством, стойкостью и трудом создавалась история нашей страны. Сегодня он продолжает заниматься общественной деятельностью - выступает перед молодежью и участниками СВО.
Вместе с руководителем РИК Сахалинского регионального отделения партии «Единая Россия» Ириной Киселевой приехали поздравить юбиляра с такой знаменательной датой. Поблагодарили за подвиг и пожелали Вячеславу Васильевичу здоровья, бодрости духа, внимания и заботы родных. От фракции «Единая Россия» и от себя лично вручил набор деликатесов к праздничному столу.

На встрече с жителями Шикотана подробно обсудили транспортную доступность острова. Регулярные вертолетные рейсы с Кунаширом уже возобновлены после ремонта воздушного судна. В следующем году планируем заменить его новым вертолетом Ми-171. Что касается морских перевозок, все билеты находятся под контролем. На данный момент необходимости в дополнительных рейсах теплохода нет.
Отдельно рассмотрели состояние улично-дорожной сети. На следующий год запланирован капитальный ремонт улицы Студенческой в Малокурильском. До начала работ поручил организовать более удобное автобусное сообщение. Аналогичную задачу поставил по улице Лесной. Попросил подключить ГИБДД, чтобы оценить ситуацию на этих участках и предусмотреть необходимые меры для безопасного движения.
