Пару дней он пытался лечиться таблетками, которые привёз из дома, но улучшения не наступало. Туристы поехали в реанимацию Thai International Hospital, куда удалось пробиться с трудом, несмотря на премиум-страховку.
В госпитале стало ещё хуже — у мужчины случилась остановка сердца, тайские врачи целый час реанимировали его. После этого он провёл долгое время на ИВЛ. Сейчас Дмитрий пришёл в себя, дышит без трубки, но ментально он на уровне ребёнка, речь сохранилась, краткосрочная память нет. МРТ-исследование показало, что поражения мозга нет, значит потребуется долгая реабилитация.
Улететь домой турист может только в сопровождении врача, пока страховая согласовывает транспортировку. Дмитрий работал в независимой экспертизе по ЧП в Москве — сейчас его дальнейшая карьера под вопросом.
