Милош Бикович: Меншиков был человеком широкого спектра. В сербском языке есть выражение «veran je kao pas», которое дословно переводится «быть верным, как собака». Именно таким я видел Меншикова — человеком, который до конца оставался рядом с хозяином. Он мог где-то укусить или ослушаться, но делал это с таким обаянием, которое всегда его спасало. Он ходил по тонкой грани, поскольку Петр был человеком сурового характера: мог жестоко наказать или даже казнить. Нарушить доверие такого человека было смертельно опасно. Впрочем, Меншиков никогда не делал этого сознательно, хотя и позволял себе поступки, которые могли иметь серьёзные последствия.
