How the quality index is calculated

Щётки полосят, скрипят или прыгают — пора менять. При замене легко уронить поводок: пружина тянет вниз, удар оставляет скол или трещину. Ошибка — щётка не той длины: цепляет стойку или выходит за край.
Поднимите поводок до упора, подложите полотенце. Нажмите фиксатор — защёлку или кнопку — и снимите щётку с крючка. Новую берите той же длины; проверьте: не задевает пластик у стойки и не выходит за край. Ставьте до щелчка и проверьте фиксатор. Опускайте поводок плавно, придерживая рукой. Включите дворники на малой скорости: не должно быть зацепа и полосы.
Пружина прижимает щётку, поэтому отпущенный поводок бьёт как молоток — сила в одной точке. Полотенце гасит удар. Фиксатор держит щётку; не дожать — слетит на ходу. Длина важна: стойка и край стекла жёсткие, длинная цепляется и гнёт резинку, короткая оставляет полосу.

Обычно водитель списывает это на загустевшую смазку или особенности гидравлики.
Но если вакуумный усилитель теряет герметичность, в системе появляется микротрещина. Через нее уходит разрежение, и в первые секунды после запуска тормоза работают совсем не так, как должны.

На малой скорости при торможении слышен скрип или скрежет. Педаль стала мягче или уходит глубже. Вибрация на руле. Признаки износа колодок.
Поставьте машину на ровном месте, затяните ручник, включите передачу или паркинг. Нажмите тормоз пару раз до упора и удерживайте. Если педаль уходит ниже или стала мягкой, колодки могли стереться. На малой скорости слегка притормозите и послушайте: ровный скрип — износ накладки, металлический скрежет — колодка стёрта до основы. Через спицы оцените толщину накладки; меньше двух-трёх миллиметров — пора менять. Без опор колесо не снимайте.
Накладка стирается, зазор до диска растёт. Педали нужно больше хода, поэтому она кажется мягче. Скрип даёт вибрация стёртого материала или металлический индикатор, а вибрация на руле — неравномерный износ.
При скрежете, провале педали, выросшем тормозном пути или сильной вибрации нужен сервис с подъёмником. Тянуть нельзя: стёртая колодка портит диск, а тормоза могут отказать.
