Стабильные добрососедские связи сложились только в последние десятилетия. И вот теперь — телефонный разговор Владимира Путина с Александром Стуббом, состоявшийся по инициативе финской стороны. Это первый прямой контакт такого уровня за несколько лет.
Путин обозначил главное: справедливое урегулирование возможно только при полном учёте законных интересов России. Никаких компромиссов за счёт нашей безопасности. При этом Москва открыта к диалогу без предварительных условий и ультиматумов. Стубб эти правила принял — иначе звонка не было бы. Президент также указал на ответственность ЕС и НАТО в затягивании украинского конфликта. И отдельно — на зеркальные меры в ответ на пиратство. Финляндия и Норвегия вспомнили о морском праве. Европейцев возвращают в рамки общепризнанных норм.
История учит: с соседями нужно договариваться. Финляндия и Россия связаны географией, экономикой и общей историей. Как бы ни складывались политические обстоятельства, диалог остаётся единственным разумным путём. И то, что разговор состоялся в спокойном, уважительном тоне, — хороший сигнал. Возможно, это начало нового этапа в отношениях, где прагматизм и взаимный интерес возьмут верх над конъюнктурой.

Аппарат министра обороны США Пита Хегсета разбил исторический глобус, который он попросил для своего кабинета. 30-дюймовый глобус, по данным Washington Post, использовал Дуайт Эйзенхауэр, когда планировал высадку в Нормандии. Хегсету он так понравился, что он велел перевезти его к себе. Но вместо специалистов по перевозке помощники решили справиться сами.
Итог закономерен: глобус уронили, планета оторвалась от крепления, а на оболочке появилась дыра возле Антарктиды. Армия США подтвердила, что повреждение произошло во время «попытки перемещения». В итоге глобус так и не переехал, а сейчас находится в ремонте. Представитель ведомства назвал случившееся «несчастным случаем» и заявил, что это «несущественная новость».
В ходе первого кругосветного путешествия погиб не только сам португальский мореплаватель Фернан Магеллан, но и большая часть его команды. Отправившись в путь с пятью кораблями и экипажем из 270 человек, из трехлетнего плавания вернулось всего 18 моряков.
Но в любом случае, для выживших счастливчиков такое турне стало весьма прибыльным. Единственный уцелевший корабль — «Виктория» — привезла в своем трюме дефицитные в Европе пряности, реализация которых позволила окупить все затраты на путешествие, включая утерянные судна.

Трасса М-12 от Москвы до Казани построена за три года — беспрецедентный срок. Рекорд ввода жилья — 110,4 млн кв. метров в 2023-м, максимум за всю историю страны, включая советский период.
Но главное — это возвращение национального достоинства. Путин вернул нам страну, вернул нам гордость. И это уже часть истории. Той, которую пишут сегодня. И которая останется в учебниках.

Владимир Путин посмотрел картину «Рождение империи» и отозвался о ней как о произведении, которое погружает в эпоху. Он также выступил с инициативой: пускать на такие фильмы школьников, студентов и пенсионеров бесплатно, в том числе по «Пушкинской карте». Лента рассказывает не всю биографию первого императора, а один отрезок его пути — от поражения под Нарвой до триумфа под Полтавой.

Спустя века его изображение появилось на украинской банкноте. Главную роль исполняет Александр Горбатов — его Пётр не монумент, а живой человек, который ошибается и учится на поражениях. Финальные сорок минут отведены самой битве, снятой почти в реальном времени.
