- А тебе, Лариса, далеко до дома? Хочешь я тебе на такси дам? Мне-то уж очень далеко, они за город ночью не везут, назад клиентов нету, а двойной тариф слишком дорого. А тебе хватит, - дядя Митя смотрел на неё и улыбался, и Лариса вдруг вспомнила, что в школе у неё был друг, Колька, она была вечно голодная, а он приносил в школу бутерброды и кормил её. И так же смотрел, как это мужик, по-доброму, немного насмешливо, она сейчас себя вдруг молодой девчонкой ощутила, словно и не было этой жизни, не было ресторана "Золотой век", и это не её отправили на пенсию.
Лариса доела бутерброд, запила горячим, сладким чаем и вдруг сказала, сама от себя даже не ожидала!
- Пошли ко мне, дядя Митя, не на лавке же ночевать? Вот он, мой дом, и ехать никуда не надо. Бери свою сумку и пошли, только веди себя скромно, а не то рука у меня тяжёлая, не смотри, что не молодая!
Мужик опешил, недоуменно на неё посмотрел, потом на дом за спиной, потом опять на Ларису Андреевну.
- А чего ты тогда тут сидела? Чего ждала то?
- Ничего я не ждала, нечего мне ждать больше, ты идёшь, или нет? - Лариса Андреевна повернулась и направилась к дому. Дмитрий Иванович заметался, потом взял сумку.
- А как же? Да неудобно! Да я... да ты не подумай, я на полу, в уголочке, а утром сразу уеду. Спасибо, а то ведь холодно, - Дмитрий Иванович шёл за Ларисой, удивлённо мотая головой.
Утром Лариса проснулась от странного стука. Вышла из комнаты - Дмитрий уже встал, он спал на кухонном диване, и что-то чинил в туалете.
- У тебя, Лариса, бачок течёт, вот починил, может даже на завтрак заработал? - он выпрямился и улыбнулся, а она удивилась. Стоит перед ней чужой мужик в майке, волосы седые наполовину, влажные - видно только умылся. А ей радостно и тепло на душе, непонятно от чего.
- Ну что, идём завтракать, дядя Митя, и правда заслужил. Яичницу с помидорами будешь? - Лариса улыбнулась. - У меня между прочим стиралка тоже плохо работает, подтекает. И ещё ...
Так и остался Дмитрий Иванович у Ларисы Андреевны до следующей своей рабочей смены. Позвонил матери, у той всё в порядке оказалось, и остался.
Живут они теперь вдвоём. Дмитрий Иванович на работу ходит, сутки через трое. А Лариса ждёт мужа и готовит ему жюльены и блюда ресторанные. Митя целует ей руки.
- Ларисочка, ведь я понял, это ты меня ждала, я ведь не случайно опоздал, вот ведь судьба! Прости, ты была такая одинокая, я не смог тебя одну оставить. Всю жизнь прожил, а не знал, что так любить смогу, ну надо же, как же мне повезло!
К матушке его они часто ездят, ей хоть уж под восемьдесят, а она ещё шустрая, боевая. Лариса перед ней себя совсем девчонкой чувствует.
А за сына-то как рада Мария Поликарповна. Наконец-то и у её Митеньки есть счастье, есть ради кого жить.

- Женщина, Вам что, трудно сказать? Автобус последний ушёл или нет? Вы же автобус ждёте? - мужик отдышался и кинул тяжёлую сумку на лавочку рядом с Ларисой Андреевной.
- Ничего и никого я не жду, - раздражённо ответила она. Потом подумала, что время позднее, кто знает, что это за мужик, и ответила помягче: - Какой-то автобус ушёл минут пять назад, я не обратила внимания.
- Ну всё! - мужик плюхнулся на лавку так, что Лариса Андреевна испугалась, что лавка сейчас развалится и вскочила. - А Вы тоже опоздали? - не унимался мужик.
Вот же ведь пристал! Лариса Андреевна одёрнула плащ и решила идти домой, поздно уже.
Час назад она вдруг ощутила странную потребность выйти из дома. Стало как-то душно и одиноко, никогда с ней такого раньше не было.
Всю жизнь Лариса Андреевна прожила одна и была очень счастлива. Подруги замуж повыходили, детей нарожали, а ей совсем этого не хотелось. Как вспомнит - мать в деревне рожала, как подорванная, одного за другим. Потом троих в интернат отдала, а Лариса - старшая, в город сбежала. Окончила училище, выучилась на бухгалтера и всю жизнь в центральном ресторане города отработала. Сначала она была просто бухгалтером, потом до самой пенсии главбухом. Свадьбы, юбилеи, скучно не было. Оклад хороший, еда вкусная, квартиру купила, на отдых ездила и другой жизни Лариса Андреевна не хотела.
Но год назад новый хозяин ресторана заявил, что Лариса Андреевна не знает новых методов работы и его многое не устраивает. Её отправили на пенсию, хотя сама Лариса Андреевна не собиралась.
Поначалу она кинулась искать новое место. Потом поняла, что то, что ей предлагают, - ей не нравится, а то, что нравится, - там нужны молодые. Плюнула, ну и ладно. Подушка безопасности у неё есть, небольшая, но хватит. И ушла на пенсию без оглядки.
Сначала всё было просто замечательно, она жила без всяких планов, не ставила будильник, ездила на экскурсии и даже ходила в парк на занятия скандинавской ходьбой.
Но вдруг ей всё это опостылело, и сегодня вечером она просто вышла на улицу и села на лавочку у автобусной остановки.
Машины ехали, гудели, мигали, шли люди, разговаривали, а она сидела и чувствовала, словно её вообще нет, а есть только этот шумный город. И он живёт своей жизнью, а её жизнь не имеет абсолютно никакого значения!
И никому она не нужна, абсолютно никому, ни одному человеку на всём белом свете!
И вдруг этот мужик!
- А что, Вам тоже ночевать негде, а, женщина? Я то как-то тут до утра на лавке ночевал, утром уехал. Я за городом живу, вот смену отработал - опоздал, тогда-то ночи тёплые были, а сегодня прохладно! Ну да ничего, у меня бутерброды есть с колбасой, ты это... дамочка, садись, не боись, не укушу. Вот, держи, хлеб свежий, колбаса любительская, а я сейчас термос достану и мы чайку горячего попьём, с сахаром, согреемся.
Мужик ни с того ни с сего перешёл на "ты" и сунул бутерброд в руку Ларисе Андреевне. Она хотела отказаться, но вдруг поняла, что страшно хочет есть. Она не ужинала, да и в обед почти не ела. И она откусила кусочек, а вкусно-то как! Она давно не покупала колбасу - на диете сидеть пыталась, а тут хлеб ароматный, а колбаска, мммм!
Мужик весело засмеялся.
- Ну что, вкусно, а? Держи, вот я чай налил, смотри горячий, не обожгись. Тебя как зовут-то?
- Лариса Андреевна, - с набитым ртом ответила она, и мужик радостно кивнул.
- Лариса, значит! А я - дядя Митя, ой, то есть Дмитрий я, Дмитрий Иванович. Раньше на заводе работал, уволили, вот теперь в охране сутки - трое. И ничего, нормально, мать, правда, у меня болеет, старая стала, вот на лекарства ей и работаю, может поживет ещё. А семья была, да сплыла, сын вырос, жена ушла к другому, в общем - живу и живу! - он вздохнул, улыбнулся, но глаза вдруг стали
