Он стоял у Креста среди римской стражи. Евангелие сохранило исповедание сотника и воинов: «Воистину Он был Сын Божий».
По церковному преданию, этого сотника звали Лонгином. По житию, он оставил военную службу, принял крещение и стал проповедовать Христа. Когда за ним пришли воины с приказом о казни, он принял их в своём доме, а затем открыл, кого они нашли.
Произнести правду бывает трудно. Сохранить ей верность, когда она становится опасной для тебя, — ещё труднее. Лонгин остался верен Христу до мученической смерти.
Святой мученик Лонгин, моли Бога о нас! Испроси нам мужество не соглашаться на ложь, не отступать от веры и поступать по Евангелию. 🙏
📅 28 октября — память святителя Афанасия (Сахарова), исповедника, епископа Ковровского.
В лагерях он работал на лесоповале, строил дорогу, плёл лапти. В начале войны прошёл пешим этапом около 400 километров. После заключения следовали ссылка и новые аресты.
Но рядом с ним были другие узники, которым тоже нужна была опора. По воспоминаниям, владыка ободрял их, призывал не падать духом и благодарить Бога. 🕊️
В годы неволи он составлял молитвенные последования — о заключённых, о прекращении войн, о врагах и обидчиках. Переживая гонения, он продолжал молиться и за тех, кто причинял страдания.
Его жизнь напоминает: даже когда человек лишён свободы, у него остаётся возможность поддержать ближнего и сохранить верность Христу.
🙏 Святителю отче Афанасие, моли Бога о нас! Укрепи нас в испытаниях, научи прощению и помоги не оставлять людей в беде.
📅 27 октября — память преподобной Параскевы-Петки Сербской.
По житию, услышав в храме призыв следовать за Христом, Параскева отдала свою одежду бедняку. Родные бранили её, но она снова делилась с нуждающимися.
Потом были уход из дома, пустынное уединение, пост и молитва. Вернувшись на родину, она жила неузнанной и была похоронена как безвестная странница. 🕊️
При жизни её подвиг оставался скрытым. После обретения мощей почитание Параскевы распространилось далеко за пределы её родной земли. Сербская, Болгарская, Ясская — всё это имена одной святой.
Её житие напоминает: верность Евангелию начинается с поступка, который можно совершить сегодня, — заметить чужую нужду и поделиться своим.
🙏 Преподобная мати Параскево, моли Бога о нас! Укрепи нас в вере, научи милосердию и терпеливой молитве.
📅 26 октября — память священномучеников Карпа и Папилы, мучеников Агафодора и Агафоники.
Агафодор пошёл вслед за узниками. По житию, он сострадал Карпу и Папиле и не оставил их, когда тех гнали под стражей из одного города в другой. Вскоре он сам принял мученическую смерть.
🕊️ В этом рассказе верность открывается через поступки: последовать за страдающими, помочь больному даже среди гонений, сохранить веру под угрозой смерти.
Житие святителя Димитрия Ростовского сохранило особенно важную подробность: перед казнью Карп, Папила и Агафоника молились не только о себе, но и о тех, кто должен был их убить. Гонители могли отнять их жизнь, но не смогли заставить их ответить ненавистью.
🙏 Святые мученики Карпе, Папило, Агафодоре и Агафонико, молите Бога о нас! Помогите нам хранить веру, не оставлять ближних в беде и учиться прощению.
📅 25 октября — память святителя Мартина Милостивого, епископа Турского.
У ворот Амьена замерзал бедняк. По житию, Мартин уже раздал нуждающимся всё, чем мог помочь. Тогда он разрезал собственный плащ: половину отдал человеку, другой укрылся сам.
Ночью, рассказывает Сульпиций Север, Мартин увидел Христа в той половине плаща, которую отдал нищему. 🕊️
Став епископом, он сохранил простоту жизни, заботился о больных и просил пощады для осуждённых. А в последнюю поездку отправился ради примирения поссорившихся людей.
Его милосердие начиналось с конкретного поступка — заметить чужую нужду и поделиться тем, что необходимо тебе самому.
🙏 Святителю отче Мартине, моли Бога о нас! Помоги нам не проходить мимо чужой беды и хранить мир с ближними.
📅 25 октября — празднование Рудненской иконы Божией Матери.
В Крылатском почитаемый образ у родника был уничтожен в годы гонений. Но домашний список сохранили женщины одной семьи: Параскева, её дочь Варвара, затем Варварина крестница Лидия.
По местному преданию, даже после закрытия храма верующие брали икону на праздничную службу в Москву. Освящённую на молебне воду привозили обратно к роднику. Молитва продолжалась. 🕊️
Позднее сохранённый образ передали в возрождающийся храм. То, что берегли дома, стало святыней всего прихода. За этой историей — верность людей, передававших следующим поколениям и икону, и любовь к Богородице.
🙏 Пресвятая Богородице, утеши скорбящих, укрепи нас в вере и помоги сохранить верность Сыну Твоему!
📅 24 октября — память преподобного Феофана Начертанного, исповедника, епископа Никейского.
По житию, за защиту икон на лицах Феофана и его брата Феодора насильно начертали оскорбительные стихи. Надписи должны были унизить их. Но имя «Начертанные» стало для Церкви свидетельством стойкости в вере.
Феодор умер в заточении. Феофан дожил до восстановления иконопочитания и стал епископом. Его служение продолжилось и в песнопениях: созданные им каноны вошли в молитвенное наследие Церкви. 🕊️
Вспоминая святого, попросим мужества хранить веру в испытаниях и мудрости соединять твёрдость убеждений с христианской любовью.
📅 24 октября — память апостола от семидесяти Филиппа, одного из семи диаконов.
На дороге из Иерусалима в Газу ехал человек со свитком пророка Исаии. Он читал, но не понимал, о Ком говорится. Филипп подошёл к колеснице, выслушал вопрос и возвестил ему об Иисусе. Вскоре путник принял крещение и продолжил дорогу с радостью. 🕊️
Филипп проповедовал жителям городов, но находил время и для одного человека, которому требовалось объяснение. В этой встрече — напоминание и нам: не стыдиться вопросов о вере и терпеливо помогать тому, кто ищет ответа.
🕊 23 октября — память мучеников Евлампия и Евлампии Никомидийских.
Брат и сестра, которых Церковь вспоминает вместе. По житию, когда Евлампия узнала о страданиях брата, она пришла к нему и открыто объявила себя христианкой, разделив его участь.
🤍 В этом поступке — верность Христу и близкому человеку перед лицом опасности. Она не могла остановить гонителей, но не оставила брата одного.
Их память побуждает нас беречь друг друга: замечать чужую беду, находить время для помощи и оставаться рядом, когда это особенно трудно.
