Случайная встреча в лесу сейчас особенно опасна: вепрь способен разогнаться до 40 км/ч и серьёзно ранить клыками. Поэтому не стоит приближаться ради сторис или пытаться прогнать его. Особенно если перед вами самка с поросятами.
Водителям стоит быть внимательнее возле лесов и зелёных зон: кабан может внезапно выскочить под колёса. Если он уже на дороге, нужно притормозить и пропустить всю группу — следом за первым могут выбежать остальные, включая детёнышей. Не нужно сигналить ему в упор, резко объезжать или выходить из машины ради фотографии.
По данным Mash за 2025 год, за три года численность кабанов в Москве и области выросла с 500 до 650 особей.
