· James Joyce — Ulysses (1922) (IR)
Each chapter corresponds to an episode of Homer's Odyssey. Leopold Bloom = Odysseus, Stephen Dedalus = Telemachus, Molly Bloom = Penelope.
· Alfred, Lord Tennyson — Ulysses (1833) (UK)
A dramatic monologue spoken by an aged Odysseus who refuses to retire:
"To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield."
· Derek Walcott — Omeros (1990) (Saint Lucia – postcolonial)
An epic poem that won the Nobel Prize. Homer's world transplanted to the Caribbean islands.
· Margaret Atwood — The Penelopiad (2005) (CA)
A retelling of the Odyssey from Penelope's point of view — and the twelve hanged maids.
· Michael Ondaatje — The English Patient (1992) (CA – Sri Lankan-born Canadian)
The characters constantly compare themselves to figures from the Odyssey. One of them says:
"He is more like Odysseus than anyone else."

Ну что вышло — that will do.🙃
