The second day of the 5th meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council of the Scientific and Technological Center for the Development of mRNA Technologies has started

Participants will work in four thematic sections:
💉The oncology track will focus on mRNA vaccines against solid tumors, liquid biopsy issues and personalized target selection.
🫀The second section will bring together cardiology and general therapy, touching on the problems of myocardial fibrosis, cystic fibrosis and severe autoimmune pathologies.
🧬The third section will be devoted to infection prevention and the creation of new vaccines against influenza, HIV, tick-borne encephalitis and other infectious threats.
📌The fourth track will cover advanced technological platforms: scaling of mRNA delivery systems, in vivo CAR therapy, gene editing and the use of machine learning.

While participants prepare for their presentations, we recall how the first day of the meeting went.

Awareness Session on Prohibited Substances and Hostel Rules held in Hostel 3.

An awareness session was conducted for international students by curator Mr. I. Kh. Buvaev on the topics of “Use of Prohibited Substances” and “Hostel Rules and Regulations.”

During the session, students were informed about the harmful effects of prohibited substances on health, academic performance, and personal well-being. The importance of following hostel rules, maintaining cleanliness, respecting fellow residents, and observing discipline and safety regulations was also emphasized.

The session aimed to encourage responsible behaviour, promote a healthy lifestyle, and ensure a safe and comfortable living environment for all students. It was informative and helped students better understand their responsibilities within the university community.

Dialogue with science leaders 🥼

In addition to academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences, scientists and heads of medical centers, students watched the first day of the fifth meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council of the Scientific and Technological Center for the Development of mRNA Technologies live.

Students were personally told about the mechanisms of action of mRNA vaccines, the prospects for the development of biomedicine and opportunities for starting a scientific career by:

📌Denis Yuryevich Logunov — Director of the N. F. Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, creator of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine;
📌Oleg Nikolayevich Demidov — Professor of the "Immunobiology and Biomedicine" track at the Scientific Center for Genetics and Life Sciences of Sirius National Research University, leading researcher at the Institute of Cytology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, head of a group at the University of Burgundy and the INSERM Institute of Health and Medical Research (France), Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor;
📌Roman Alekseyevich Ivanov — Director of the Scientific Center for Translational Medicine, scientific director of the "Medical Biotechnology" track at Sirius National Research University;
📌Valentin Nikolayevich Pavlov — Rector of BSMU, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor.

BSMU and the Gamaleya Center are preparing the transfer of technology for manufacturing mRNA preparations to Ufa 🧬

#БГМУМинздраваРоссии is on the way to the next stage of work with personalized mRNA preparations — their manufacture at its own facility.

BSMU and the N. F. Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology signed a letter of intent. The signatures were put by the center's director, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Denis Logunov, and the rector of BSMU, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Valentin Pavlov. The document develops the cooperation already begun.

Earlier, the university received the rights to use software and a diagnostic method.
Now the partners are preparing the conditions for the transfer of technology for manufacturing mRNA-based preparations.

"Today we signed with the Gamaleya Institute an agreement on the transfer of technologies for the production of these types of preparations on the basis of our university. We were permitted to become one of the sites in the Russian Federation. We have identified four patients for therapy with a personalized anti-cancer vaccine for one of the most severe malignant neoplasms of the skin — melanoma. These are fairly young people aged 40 to 55. We hope that already this year these first patients will receive an individual vaccine,"

commented the rector of BSMU, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Valentin Pavlov.

Ufa became a platform for the development of domestic mRNA technologies for three days 🔥

At the site of #БГМУМинздраваРоссии in the Interuniversity Campus, the fifth meeting of the Scientific and Technical Council of the Scientific and Technical Center for the Development of mRNA Technologies has started

The business program covers a wide range of issues: from the first experience of clinical use of an mRNA drug for the treatment of melanoma to financing mRNA therapy for oncological diseases and the development of this area in cardiology.

📌Leading scientists, academicians of the Russian Academy of Sciences and heads of medical centers in the country will discuss the experience of using individualized biotechnological medicinal products, improving their production and scaling the technology.

Ahead are three days of work by sections on oncology, cardiology, infections and technological platforms.

🏛 Knowing the law is the key to a peaceful education!

On October 19, an important meeting was held in dormitory No. 2 on the topic: "Migration Legislation of the Russian Federation: Rights, Duties and Responsibilities."

The meeting was conducted by curator Zakiev A.M. The event was attended by more than 50 students!

We covered the key points that every student, especially a foreign one, needs to know in order to avoid fines and problems with documents.

📌 Let's remember the 4 main rules of migration legislation:
1️⃣ Observe registration deadlines.
2️⃣ Keep track of visa and stay deadlines.
Always monitor the dates in your visa or migration card. Documents must be extended in advance! Being overdue even by one day is an administrative fine, and in the worst case, a ban on entry.
3️⃣ Remember the purpose of entry.
You are in Russia to receive an education. Violating the purpose of entry is a serious offense.
4️⃣ Always carry your documents.
On the street, on transport, and during any checks, you must have the original documents with you.

BSMU hosted its “Debut 2026” Gala Concert at the Bashkir State Philharmonic. The hall was full of students and teachers cheering for our talented first-year students. The whole night was a beautiful celebration of the different cultures and peoples of Russia.

The show was amazing and had something for everyone. Students performed modern dances, bright Russian folk routines, and traditional Indian songs. The evening proved that “Together we are strong!” We are so proud of our first-year students for this wonderful show! 🎭✨

A Fun and Colorful Garba Night at BSMU

BSMU recently had an amazing Garba celebration! Students wore beautiful traditional clothes and danced to exciting music. The 10th building turned into a bright sea of colors, with happy faces lighting up the whole room. The music was so fun that everyone held hands and danced together.

It was a wonderful night full of culture, unity, and great memories. Students clapped and cheered for each other, making it a very special chapter in BSMU’s story. A big thank you to everyone who came and made the night so magical! ✨
