Along the way, we stopped in Hinigaran to stretch our legs and explore some old buildings dating back to the Spanish colonial period.
I enjoy these little detours. You take a short break from the road and end up discovering something interesting while getting a glimpse into the country’s history.
🏙 Bacolod: I think I’m becoming more of a nature person! 😂
As soon as we arrived, we went out to explore the city.
I’ve noticed something about myself: the more I travel, the less interested I become in big cities. Sure, they offer more shops, cafés, entertainment and opportunities. But lately, I’ve been craving nature, quieter places and the chance to slow down.
My girlfriend, on the other hand, really liked Bacolod! 😁
Different people, different tastes.
For dinner, we went to Ribshack and then continued our evening walk. That’s when we came across a street vendor selling my girlfriend’s favourite Filipino treat — puto bumbong.
And honestly, I like it too!
This traditional Filipino delicacy is made from purple glutinous rice steamed until soft and sticky. It’s usually served with butter, grated coconut and brown sugar. Some versions also include cheese and condensed milk, creating an unusual combination of sweet, salty and creamy flavours. 🇵🇭
🏍 92 kilometres on one motorcycle, with three people!
We covered around 92 km that day, all three of us riding on a single motorcycle.
Now add clear skies and temperatures of around 35–38°C. Basically, a personal sauna on two wheels! 😂☀️
Even after all that riding, we still had enough energy to explore the central park in the evening.
It was a full day of riding, discovering new places, trying local food and enjoying the city atmosphere.
And the best part? The following day had even more adventures waiting for us!
To be continued… 😉
